ACC’s vision is to create a unique partnership with every New Zealander, improving their quality of life by minimising the incidence and impact of injury.  The Test Engineer role is the ideal opportunity for a forward thinking, ambitious and experienced professional to join ACC at a time of transformational change. As the Test Engineer you will be responsible for identifying, utilising and implementing technological improvements (e.g. automation) to drive forward the capability of the Enterprise Testing function so that it can deliver more efficiently and consistently in the future.


You'll be an important part of a team of test professionals who have a sound understanding of test automation and development. Key responsibilities will include preparing reusable functions, which improve the robustness, re-usability, and maintainability of their test scripts, investigate and evaluate new technologies to further ACC automation innovation as well as providing automated test expertise to the projects you are assigned to.


Key responsibilities of the role and what you need to be successful:

  • University Graduate with an ISTQB Foundation Qualification.
  • Preferably 1 years’ experience in test automation or development.
  • Good understanding of and practical experience in testing techniques.
  • Good understanding and experience in the use of technologies and tooling in order to drive specific capabilities (e.g. automation, performance, etc.)
  • A basic understanding of the full test life cycle, particularly as it fits with the overall solution development life cycle methods, tools, controls and techniques (e.g. agile, waterfall, Prince2, SDLC, etc.)
  • Ability to make decisions at the appropriate time; taking into account the needs of the situation, priorities, constraints and the availability of necessary information.
  • The ability to take the responsibility to influence the direction of the automation effort, and its schedule and prioritization on projects assigned.
  • Strong customer focus and interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively with a variety of stakeholders.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to drive innovation and adopt new ways of working
  • Demonstrate ability to work in a team environment and contribute to team performance

The indicative salary starts at $78,468 and we add an attractive 9% super contribution to your overall package as a benefit.
