The Scrum Master is a crucial role and is responsible for a number of areas, including encourage experimentation, and support continuous team improvement.

 

The Scrum Master helps maximise the value created by the Scrum team, and protects the team from external distractions. You’re that leader who carves the path forward for your team with your transparent approach.

 

Key responsibilities of the role and what you need to be successful:

  • Strong knowledge of the Agile values and principles, and display Agile behaviours
  • Have an Agile mindset, and Servant Leader attributes
  • 2+ years experience in an Agile environment
  • Practicing Scrum Master with experience in the Scrum Master role for a minimum of 2 year
  • Track record of continuous learning in Agile, such as reading, listening to podcasts, attending meetups, training, etc.
  • Knowledge of approaches discussed in the Agile space, such Lean, Scrum and Kanban
  • Knowledge and/or knowledge with widely successful Agile techniques: User Stories, ATDD, TDD, Continuous Integration, Continuous Testing, Pairing, Automated Testing, Agile Games
  • Experience with estimating
  • Experience in delivery management in multi-party environments and processes
  • Previous experience as a collaborative leader
  • Strong customer focus and interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively with a variety of stakeholders
  • Ability to drive innovation and adopt new ways of working
  • Demonstrate ability to work in a team environment and contribute to team performance
  • Excellent communication (written and verbal) and facilitation skills
  • Strong time management and organisational skills
