Be our Principal Advisor Strategy within our wider Customer System and Intelligence team.

We want all people in New Zealand to receive the support they need to avoid injury and manage their own wellbeing

The Principal Advisor Strategy will play a critical role in this mahi by supporting the delivery of a future oriented organisational strategy for ACC.  As a key role in the Strategy and Customer System team, the Principal Advisor Strategy will provide leadership and advice to inform and shape ACC’s strategic priorities for the future.

A bit about you. You are recognised as a strategy expert. Someone who’s led and designed strategy processes for leadership teams and organisations. You apply a partnership approach to your work and understand the value of being collaborative. You are a naturally curious person that embraces diversity and innovation. And you have a talent for using evidence and data to inform your advice.

At ACC we’re committed to Te Tiriti o Waitangi by providing space for mātauranga Māori-based approaches to develop tools, actions and knowledge that serve Māori and Tangata Tiriti (non-Māori). Our Te Tiriti o Waitangi direction is guided by the Whāia Te Tika - ‘Pursue What is Right’ – Māori Strategy. It illustrates our commitment to improve Māori access, experience, and outcomes through our role in managing the ACC scheme.

What we are looking for from you to be successful in this role:

  • Proven experience in developing and delivering strategic frameworks and plans that balance the interests of multiple stakeholders.
  • Strong financial analysis, planning, and implementation skills and the ability to provide advice to senior management in these areas.
  • Effective partnering, consulting and relationship management skills with senior business leaders and the willingness to work collaboratively.
  • Conceptual and creative thought leadership around robust strategic advice across a large complex enterprise.
  • Knowledge and/or working experience within a legislative or regulatory environment.
  • Commitment to Te Tiriti o Waitangi and its application to your role.

This is a newly created role and the perfect opportunity to provide strategic thought leadership across a dynamic customer focused organisation.

If you can tick off a few of the list above, we’d love to hear from you.  For us, it’s about how you go about your work – the relationships you build along the way.

Working at ACC:

We know that a diverse and inclusive team helps us meet the needs of our customers, and we welcome candidates from every ethnicity, national origin, gender identity, age, and those with a disability or who have additional mental health needs. It is important to us that people are free to be themselves at work. Here are some ways we encourage that:

  • Employee networks to support our colleagues from diverse backgrounds.
  • The option to explore flexible working that suits your needs and ours.
  • Development opportunities in te reo Māori me ngā tikanga.
