ACC’s vision is to create a unique partnership with every New Zealander, improving their quality of life by minimising the incidence and impact of injury. We recognise that diversity, inclusion and accessibility are important to our business, our people and our customers. We embrace the unique perspective and capabilities of our people now and into the future who help us continue to build a culture of involvement, respect and connection for our people and with all New Zealand.

We have an incredibly exciting opportunity for a new grad (graduate) who is wanting to break into the world of investments. This role is a real development role where you will get to learn the practical applications of investments and will give you scope to move onwards and upwards. We are very proactive about growth - both in an investments sense and in our employees.

What you may not know about our investments team here at ACC is that we are one of the largest fund managers in New Zealand, we are one of New Zealand's top performing investment managers and we are a fairly small team - so you will get exposure to everything we do right from the beginning. So, if you are keen to grow your career right from the start - consider us as your first step.

We deal with a diverse range of investment products and you would be working across these.

The types of tasks that you would be involved with are:
  • Domestic and global cash management
  • Settlements of global and domestic trades, including foreign exchange, equity and fixed interest and other derivatives
  • Reconciliations between investment managers and custodians of equity, fixed interest and derivative positions
  • Involvement in investment operations related projects
What we are looking for:

Obviously, you will need to have a relevant degree - accounting, commerce, economic, finance etc and strong Microsoft excel skills - these are non-negotiables. You will also need to have a theoretical knowledge of the investment process and an understanding of investments instruments would be a distinct advantage.

You will also need to be credible and have the ability to build relationships with stakeholders - both internally (fund managers, accountants, compliance etc) and externally (brokers, banks, custodians etc).

You will also need to have the confidence to really discuss issues with your stakeholders, you won't be afraid to question ideas or offer your own opinions. You will be a solid problem solver and have an analytical mind. You will be able to self-manage, have a curious nature and be ambitious. You will need to demonstrate a superior level of attention to detail.

At ACC, we recognise that diversity, inclusion and accessibility are important to our business, our people and our customers. We embrace the unique perspective and capabilities of our people now and into the future who help us continue to build a culture of involvement, respect and connection for our people and with all of New Zealand.

We would love to hear from you if you feel you are a good fit – applications will only be accepted when formally submitted through our ACC Career Website online. To view the position description, click , or reach out to Ali.Ward@ACC.co.nz

Applications for this role close on the Wednesday 26 June 2019.
